Coaching vs. Therapy

Coaching, unlike therapy, is a goal-oriented pursuit. I am active in the process, giving directions and outlining options, and pushing clients to take the next step. In coaching, we'll define a target, and set deliberate steps to achieve that target. You'll have homework between sessions, and be expected to actively participate both within and outside of the weekly meetings.

Unlike therapy, which is more reactive and sometimes at a slower pace as dictated by the client, coaching is active and faster-paced. Therapy may be much slower paced - we'll move where the conversation takes us. In therapy, a general direction or goal may be present, but it is a more of a "flowing and flowering" process. You may reach places in yourself you never knew existed!
