Therapy is Time for You

Sometimes therapy is sought to focus on a particular issue or problem. Grief and bereavement work is one example. Dealing with the loss of a job, relationship, person or pet is a specific kind of therapy work. But sometimes, therapy is a chance for you to spend time on developing yourself as a person. It is time set aside each week, away from the rest of your busy life, where you can focus on your own needs and feelings.

Therapy usually has three segments:

  • Initial Evaluation
  • On-going Work
  • Conclusion and Termination

The length of each segment is determined by you and the kind of work we’re doing together. While you’ll have an overall goal for this experience (“I want to feel better about myself”, or “I need help to recover from this loss”) our time together will flow along whatever paths the conversations take.
