Have you attained success and material wealth but still feel empty and unhappy?
Living in the United States, a culture which thrives on commercialism, consumerism and competition, many people adhere to the pressures of achieving a certain status and material wealth. You may have all the "stuff" you've ever thought you wanted: a big house, great job, busy family, expensive car, but you are not happy. In fact, you may be miserable.
My clients tell me during our first session together that they're caught in a cycle where they have to continually earn more money to attain all the "stuff" that is supposed to represent success and make them happy. But the more they get, the worse they feel. This is referred to as "affluenza," and if you're caught in this cycle, you need to talk to a therapist who can help you break free.
